Dog-sledding in local woods and pastures surrounding Jay Peak is now possible thanks to Montogmery Adventures, a local Touring Company and Guide Service based in Montgomery Center, VT. Glide silently and effortlessly over the snow on handmade wooden sleds behind a team of dogs on a guided tour. If you like, you can learn to "mush" and command the dogs. Dog-sledding is a fun, "green" activity, something to do once that you will always remember.
A standard sled tour takes up to 4 persons at a time with 2 dogsled teams. Keith and Lori use a musher's training sled which enables people to try "mushing" and controlling the dogs themselves with the security of a real musher behind them. Full moon dog-sled rides are possible but no children are allowed on these moonlit dog-sled outings.
